Tyrone Hairston, 77, a lifelong resident of Washington, D.C., peacefully passed away on August 18, 2025. Born on May 14, 1948, Tyrone devoted his life to serving others, both in the military and in his community.Tyrone proudly served his country in the United States military, demonstrating the same dedication and commitment that would define his entire life. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career with the United States Postal Service, where he served from 1997 until his retirement in 2024, touching countless lives throughout his 27 years of service.He is survived by his beloved wife Rita, his devoted partner of 28 years, who stood by his side through life's many journeys. Tyrone will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his service to his country and community, and the quiet dignity with which he lived his life.
